I had a really busy weekend which really hampered any progress I could have made. I am not a drinker so its not been wasted like that, I have just spent a lot of time with my family, which is cool.
I seem to lose any business focus at the weekends just now. I have plenty of drive through the week when I working my 'real job' but as soon as Saturday morning comes I pack up my working bags and move out.
Not sure if this will change when I start earning money. I hear that once it starts it's addictive so I am eagerly waiting to find out.
Now it's a bank holiday tomorrow but I am picking up my laptop to carry out some more product research and start reading an eBay guide on making money.
Maybe this is my problem. Always looking for something new instead of focusing on one thing. I did focus last year on Betfair and it paid off so maybe I should have learned my lesson. I certainly don't have time to do two or three things at once just now so why put myself through it?
Anyway, I will settle soon and move on from there.

The Hunt for New Products
I've been told that picking the right item to try and promote is key to making a site that will convert well. I suppose you don't have to be an industry expert to figure that one out.
So, after much browsing in Amazon mixed with a whole load of Bejeweled on Facebook I managed to find five product categories with four or five products in each. Now I just have to make sure that people are searching and buying these things. I mean just because I think they're worth buying doesn't mean they'll sell.
Busy times.
Out at a mates tomorrow with the family, out for some Japanese grub on Sunday and shopping for Ryan's, my son, birthday on Monday.
All the work I am trying to do with this has to be squeezed in around everything else. I hope it doesn't hamper my efforts too much but we'll soon see.

Amazon Associates
I have been looking into a number of different ways to make cash.
Last football season I managed to make just over £1,000 from backing and laying football matches on Betfair. All of that money was collected from scratch without being out of pocket. The money I earned was based on compounding so the more that was in the bank the more I made.
The problem with this was that I spent a long time in front of my laptop paying very little attention to my wife and two kids. I was ok with it for a while but then got one of those guilty consciences and decided against carrying it through for another season. Could be a mistake but I am a big fan of family life.
While I was doing this I thought I would create a blog that would talk about my successes on Betfair and promote products or services I used to help make some money. I threw some adsense at it but didn't make any money there. Think my keywords were making adsense show ads that weren't relative and I didn't know how to get qualified traffic.
My latest idea is Amazon. It looks as though some people are making money from promoting Amazon so why not give it a go.
So starting soon.... well just after a quick shot of DQIX on the DS :) I will be looking to build some sites and push some traffic to them then cross my fingers.
Quest for Respawn
Hey and welcome to my blog....
Nice start....
I am sitting in a position where I would LOVE to own some sort of gaming cafe where like minded nerds can come and sit, eat tonnes of sugar and play game until you drop (first to die loses, so no Koreans allowed).
Problem is, I work full time and don't really have capital to pay for the venture. I have an extremely cautious wife when it comes to borrowing money against the house, so much so that it just aint worth it. So I have to find some sort of way to raise the cash to pay for it without putting any sort of strain on the marriage.
I have three other major problems.
- The wife thinks that any sort of 'earn money online' job won't work so I have a battle against sinicism!
- I am very easily distracted by the wonders of modern gaming - Dragon Quest IX on the DS for anyone who's interested. I just beat the Wight Knight and ..... Oops there I go again!
- Eh.... There is no 3
What's this blog going to be about? Well, in short 'anything', in long 'aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyytttttttttttttttttttthhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg'
That will include, work I try to do to earn extra cash and everything else that distracts me on the way.
